OPEN MINDED

Online exhibition opens June 10, 2020

 

Our 7th annual Student Painting Exhibition is presented in an online only format due to the closure of schools in New York state and the COVID-19 pandemic. This year's show encouraged student artists to gather inspiration from the themes of kindness, inclusion, acceptance, and the importance of having an open mind. The exhibition features the work of 92 students in grades 6 through 12 from 5 area school districts.

Thank you, teachers!

This year's exhibition is unlike any from years past. There were many challenges and unknowns given that schools closed in mid-March 2020 and we recognize that this format was not ideal for every district and every student. However, we did not want to cancel the exhibition altogether and we reached out to the teachers to see what the options were. They worked with their students to get images of the artwork to us to present in this online exhibition so we could still showcase the work of these talented artists in whatever way we could.
